Writing equations and expressions from words can be a tricky task for my 6th graders. Here is a 15 question match exercise I created to help them. You could have them cut and paste or just match the numbers with the bottom answers. I have included 5 extra answer choices to make it trickier for them to just guess.
Here is one of the situations at the top of the paper that they have to "match" with the correct equation at the bottom of the paper:
Jill has 102 beads to make n necklaces. Each necklace will have 17 beads.
The answer they would look for is:
17n = 102
