Students need to solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations.
This all starts with knowing how to match equations in word form with equations in numerical form!
In this sorting activity, students cut out 15 sorting cards. Half are equations in word form, and half are the same equations in numerical form. Students must cut out the sorting cards and match each word card with its numerical equation card. They can glue or tape each pair of matching cards on the table. A key is provided.
These sorting activities are quick, fun, simple ways to help students establish the basic skills they need before take on more complex tasks.
