In this unit, students will learn how to find unknown values by solving equations. They will be introduced to the topic by looking at function machines, and then will solve equations – initially with the variable on just one side, but then moving onto equations with variables on both sides and equations with brackets. They will then learn to set up and solve equations to solve problems, before using graphs to estimate solutions to equations.
