This project can be used as a review at the end of a unit on equations or it can be used as a project done little by little throughout the unit as a unit question. Students must create a business or and event o start and at the end they play a game based on that event or business. The project leads students to create equations based on their prices for tickets and parking. They are also required to substitute given numbers into their equations to determine totals. Throughout the course of the project, students also work on determining sales tax and subtotals as well as withdrawals, deposits, and bank account balances. Once students have created their events or businesses they write equations to represent their prices. Students are also given time to be creative as they design a poster to promote their event or business. The pages can be used in stations, as classwork, for homework, or as ongoing work for early finishers.
