This scavenger hunt is a great way to get students up out of their seats and moving around the classroom. It includes 2 step equations and equations that require use of the distributive property.
Print and post all pages around the classroom. Students can start at any question of their choosing, solve the equation, then search for their solution on another page around the room. They will repeat this process until they have completed all 13 problems and end back where they started.
I always like to remind students if they circle back to a problem they have already answered before making it to all 13 problems then they made a mistake somewhere along the way. This helps them to self-assess and build confidence in their work.
This activity includes 13 equations to solve, an answer/work recording sheet, and an answer key. This activity could be modified to be used as task cards.
