This math activity is a great way for your students to practice identifying the equivalent expressions of fractions. Students are asked to match the fractions with a representation of it on a circle, on a number line, and with an equivalent fraction.
These are self-checking: each fraction and its matches have the same cut-out interlocking shapes. There are three different sets included: one that is easier for the students to figure out (the shapes are very distinct for each set), one that requires more understanding of the concept for the students to figure out, and a brightly colorized version.
Set these cards up as a center, or use them to help illustrate the concept of multiple representations of fractions in a small group or one-on-one.
This activity aligns with CCSS Math.3.NF.A.2 and 3.NF.A.1.
