This product is a set of 24 task cards for students to practice equivalent fraction standards. All you need to do is print, fold on the dotted line, and students practice with partners. Students sit on opposites side of the folded handout, solve the problem, switch, and check answers with one another. The task cards provide students with practice not only determining if fractions are equivalent but also generating equivalent fractions. Students will need to justify their answers with models and words. This is a fun and engaging way for students to practice task cards in a different format.
A student recording sheet is included as well as an answer key.
This product is aligned to the following state standard:
Explain why a fraction a/b is equivalent to a fraction (n × a)/(n × b) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions.
