Description

Students love memory games--and the game series "Trilogy" takes memory games to the next level for older kids! Gone are the days of matching TWO related cards...how about THREE? Trilogy game sets ask students to find three related cards to form a "trilogy". Like other memory games, play continues until all the trilogies are formed. This edition focuses on equivalent fractions and the complete set has 36 cards/12 "trilogies" to match. Sample "trilogies": 1/3, 2/6, 3/9 or 3/10, 6/20, 9/30.

Students needing differentiation can play with less cards--a list of complete trilogies is included to make this easier. Simply print out the game cards, laminate, and you are ready to play!

Explain why a fraction 𝘢/𝘣 is equivalent to a fraction (𝘯 × 𝘢)/(𝘯 × 𝘣) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions.
