Use these incredible jigsaws to have students compare equivalent fractions with denominators up to 12. Kids love fitting these together and they’re great for your kinesthetic learners.
The jigsaws can be printed out already mixed up, so that students cut them out themselves and then fit them together with matching equivalents into a new shape, either working individually or in small groups. The answer keys, shown in the new shape, are included.
There are two differentiated levels which you could use at different stages of your teaching or for differentiating within a class. The first uses visual representations with simpler equivalents and the second uses a wider range of denominators.
Once kids have completed them, they love to do them again, timing themselves to get quicker at matching the fractions. You could even use the activities as assessment for learning.
