This game is designed to be played just like the card game Spoons. Only instead of finding matches that are the same number, the matches are educational concepts. This game reviews equivalent fractions.
The only difference between this game of spoons in the “fun” game of spoons is that the last person to grab the spoon is not eliminated. They have to tell the person with the match to “Prove it.” Read the directions on the following page for more information on this change to the game. I made this change to make it more educational.
This resource contains two different sets of game pieces for finding equivalent fractions.
Set 1: The students must obtain four equivalent fractions.
Set 2: The students must use their knowledge of equivalent fractions to find cards with the same value of the ?.
I have provided a generic directions sheet and a directions page for each specific set with differing objectives.
