There is a need in literature and social studies classes to evaluate content presented in diverse media and formats including visually and aurally. This product is an engaging way of reaching this standard.
This lesson is an overview of the story of Ernest Shackleton and the crew of the Endurance during their two years trapped in the wilderness of the Antarctic. The story is told with the aid of a timeline of the expedition in the medium of a Prezi - similar to a Powerpoint presentation but a lot more fun! An explanation of a Prezi and how it works is also contained in the preview.
The lesson contains;
1. A Prezi (120mb) which contains 11 slides that tell the story visually, with humorous speech bubbles, and full narration. The last part contains a short video of a journal entry from a fictional member of the crew.
2. A pdf file of materials to use with students, including a one page text outlining the story as well as learning materials for new vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension quizzes and a journal writing exercise.
3. A full set of teachers notes and explanation on how to open and use the Prezi along with a contact e.mail for enquiries.
If you have any questions about using Prezi, please feel free to contact me through TpT or download the preview and use my mail address.
