Product Description
This student centered activity is meant to promote observational skills, and provoke a discussion about various ways to find a slope-intercept form of an equation of a line, and tie it with properties of equations.
Every pair of examples contains one erroneous and one correct solutions. Students need to identify which of them is done correctly, and complete it, then explain why the other one is wrong.
In This Product You Will Find:
-4 pairs of Error Analysis practices
-Keys
-Teacher’s Notice
Analyzed Errors Include:
O-Freeing the y of a negative coefficient incorrectly;
O-Ignoring the order opposite to GEMDAS (forgetting to divide every term of the equation, while doing it);
O- Failure to recognize a positive term, and adding it to both sides, as a result;
O- Losing signs while rearranging terms of an equation;
O-Failure to recognize the potential of either Additive Inverse or Multiplicative Property of -1 for isolating the y when a negative y-term is present.
