This fun, fall-themed, easy to set up (no props needed) printable escape room will keep your students engaged and learning! They will love finding and figuring out the clues and lock combinations that will help free Sammy Squirrel's acorns! It is a great way to practice and review skills while working together as a team!

Oh no! Someone has locked up Sammy Squirrel's acorns! Without his stash of acorns, how will Sammy make it through the winter? Can your students use their literacy, math, and problem-solving skills to help Sammy Squirrel and his friend, Ollie Owl the Detective, solve the clues and figure out the combinations to the locks in time?

A bonus activity is also included. After students have solved all the clues and rescued Sammy Squirrel's acorns, they can use inferencing and deductive reasoning skills to help Ollie Owl the Detective eliminate suspects from his list and figure out which sneaky squirrel locked up Sammy's acorns.

If you have never done an escape room with your students before, no worries! You will receive:

Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
