Escape room style reading fiction test prep. This escape room will help prepare middle school students for fiction passages on the state reading assessments. This interactive escape room requires technology. Students will need to access a google form, so any technology that allows them to access and complete a google form will work!
There are 4 stations they must complete to escape.
All stations go with the short story "The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin. Link to short story provided in the resource.
Students will put the parts of the plot diagram for the short story in the correct spot. This will create a code that they will enter into the google form.
Students will match figurative language terms to examples from the short story.
Students will have to match key reading terms (theme, point of view, conflict, and symbol) to the correct example from the story. This will create a code that they will enter into the google form.
Students will match vocabulary words from the short-story with the correct definition using their context clues. This will create a code that they will enter into the google form.
Make the days leading up to your test fun with this highly engaging activity!
