No paper. No locks. No materials. No prep. Totally digital.
I hope your students will enjoy working through this digital breakout. This breakout focuses on Common Core Math Standards 6.EE.5, 6.EE.6, 6.EE.7, 6.EE.8, and 6.EE.9. Students will reason about and solve one-variable equations and inequalities and analyze the relationship between the dependent and independent variables using graphs, table, and equations.
Students will discover links to interactive worksheets which they need to solve to find the keys to each of five different locks. This breakout will take approximately 45 minutes depending on the level of your students. Some may finish sooner and others may not finish completely. No matter how far they get, they will all be challenged and have fun at the same time. This is a great breakout to do for homework or as a review activity. Students can work individually or in groups and they love the competition. There are so many ways to use the breakout.
Teacher and students need a free Google account to be able to make copies of the Google forms and slides. Be sure your district has not blocked Google.
Breakouts are a great way to engage students and work on the four Cs (collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking) while practicing one-variable equation and inequality skills.
Instructions, answer key and hint cards are included.
