I love the escape room concept and so do my niece and nephew. Unfortunately, escape rooms are generally geared towards older children and adults. So once we learned the gender of our first child, I set about finding a child-friendly, escape room themed way to reveal the gender to our home-schooled niece (age 11) and nephew (age 7). After searching on several websites, and downloading various escape room type activities, I found myself disappointed with what was currently available. I then decided to create my own from scratch, and it was a hit with the kids. I’m very excited to share it with you! It can be used for either a boy or girl gender reveal, and is general enough that it should work in any home or church. The activities can be modified to the specific needs of the children and environment if needed.
We hope you have as much fun with this activity as we did.
Product includes the directions, sample copy, suggestions for modifications, and examples of what we did.
Activities involve: critical thinking, fill in the blank, nursery rhymes, music, math problems, solving puzzles, safety lesson, and word scramble. Children also get exercise running around searching for clues.
