Product Description
The purpose of this activity is to expose students to great books in a fun way!
To play, please divide your class into two teams. You will place the clue cards provided inside the books listed. (Please do this before students arrive.) Place the books inside shoe boxes (optional but recommended). If you are conducting this activity in the media center, it’s easier to spot the participating books if they are in shoe boxes.

If you choose to create your own “Library Escape,” please feel free to use the blank cards included to create your own.

The books used are book award nominees, a book award winner, as well as other books that may be commonly ordered in your media center, but possibly overlooked by the majority. This is a step above the “book talk” in that students get to be hands on with the books and take ownership in them by “finding” them.

Included are the “Escape Key” and signs for students to hold up and take pictures. The signs read as follows: “#Winning,” “We Did It!,” “Maybe Next Time,” & “So Close.”

My students absolutely loved this activity and I hope yours will too!
