Dear Fellow Teacher,
Enhance your students' understanding of Pam Munoz Ryan's Esperanza Rising with this literature station/center activity for the chapter "Las Ciruelas."
This station/center specifically focuses on having students making inferences about Esperanza's abilities as a babysitter of the twins Pepe and Lupe.
In this station/center, students are to choose one of two inferences that best supports their opinion of how Esperanza will fare as a babysitter.
Students then have to support the inference they chose with three pieces of text evidence from "Las Ciruelas." Students will then explain what the text evidence tells them and how it supports the inference.
Perfect for differentiated station activities, student discourse within literature circles, and whole-class discussions, this activity is a creative, efficient and effective way for students to work on this crucial literary skill of making inferences.
Additionally, this station/center activity was carefully created in alignment with the Common Core ELA standards so rest assured that it is of the highest quality.
Thanks for considering this product and, more importantly, being a teacher.
