This handy, one-page resource is a guide for students to use while writing essays to help with organization and content. As they write, students can keep the page close at hand to make sure each part of their essay (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) is complete and well-structured. This page is particularly helpful when students are writing fast essays or essays in a single sitting (such as they would for many standardized tests). It is also helpful for students to use in the revision stage during a longer essay process to make sure they've included all parts of an essay.
Note: The text in black guides students on what to do during each part of the essay. The text in blue provides examples of prompts students could use as they write. These prompts are geared toward students who are writing about reading, but they could be adapted for students writing an essay on any topic.
