Product Description

Do you have middle school students that struggle with remembering how a text-based essay should be organized? Give them a chance to practice what they know with this "Color by Fact" exercise!

Students will have to determine if each statement is true or false and color it according to directions. All statements are focused on what kind of information is required to be included in the paragraphs of a text-based essay.

You might choose to have students work with a partner. I have found that healthy debates ensue over the correct answers that students remember better than what I tell them. :)

What's included:

★ A coloring sheet for introduction paragraphs

★ A coloring sheet for body paragraphs

★ A coloring sheet for conclusion paragraphs

★ Answer keys

You could have students complete all 3 coloring sheets at once, but I had my students complete one per day for 3 days so we could focus on just one part of the essay at a time.

I hope this helps your students increase their knowledge of what's included in a text-based essay!
