Product Description
This is a task sheet for a Literary Anlysis Essay that you can use while/at the end of teaching Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is designed for high school students, but could certainly be used with upper level middle school kids as well. It is a question that forces students to "take a position" on how Melinda ultimately improved and healed in the novel.
The essay requires students to write a 5 paragraph literary analysis, complete with transitions, quotations, analysis and then ultimately, a comparison as to whether or not their thesis statement can be applied to all of society.
Along with the task sheet, I am including a breakdown of what students should have in each paragraph. This information can easily be used to copy and paste into a word document, to create an outline that works for your students.
