One of the most powerful tools in a teacher's classroom is his/her own students. By revising one another's work, the student will not only be helping his/her peer, but also sharpening skills in editing which will help hone that student's skills in relation to his/her own work.
This highly guided checklist has been tried and tested in my own personal classroom. It requires direct and fully-explained responses. I chose to use the tool as a grade (the editor must provide solid feedback so the writer may flourish) but if comfortable, a teacher could use the tool without taking a grade for its use.
