What others say

"I put these up on my focus wall and the colors go with my theme. Students ask the question and at the end of the lesson, they will do an activity to answer the question and put on the wall. "

Description

If you've used traditional "I Can..." statements, then you will love the Essential Questions. Ideally, it's the same concept, except you will no longer be telling the kids what they're learning - now they have to figure it out themselves using the question! ....and that, is what it's all about with the Common Core State Standards!

The Essential Question Posters are aligned with the 3rd Grade Math Common Core State Standards. They can easily be projected onto a smart board or printed in color, laminated, and posted daily so that the students don't need to ask every single day what they're doing....it's on the board so they can read it themselves! Also, no more writing out the objective everyday!

The Essential Questions were designed to help guide your lesson and present the daily learning objective. They were written by taking the standards and turning them into questions. The Essential Questions could also be used in connection with an Exit Ticket to assess your students' understanding of the lesson and standard. After all, the questions for your exit ticket are already done for you! ( ALL 3rd Grade Math CCSS are included in the posters.)

The Essential Question Posters are color coded according to the following domains:
*Operations and Algebraic Thinking
*Number and Operations in Base Ten
*Number and Operations - Fractions
*Measurement and Data
*Geometry

I have included a 6-page preview (full pages) so that you can see the quality of work in this product. Please ask any and all questions before you purchase.

**Want to save yourself even more time?? Check out the following teacher supplements that were designed to be used with the Essential Question Posters.
--Teacher Checklist & Essential Questions for 3rd Grade Math CCSS. The checklist allows you to record the date the standard was taught, % mastery, resources used to teach the standard, space for extra notes, and also includes each of the Essential Questions (with the same color coded domains!).
--Say What? An Interpretation Guide for the 3rd Grade Math CCSS. This is a great resource that breaks down the "wordy" Math standards into a more teacher-friendly language that you can actually understand and also has the same color coded domains!

**Needing a supplement for the Reading standards? Check out my latest product: Essential Question Posters - 3rd Grade Reading Literature and Informational Text.

I am always looking for ways to improve my products, so if you like what you see....leave some feedback or comments! I love hearing from you all!
