Essential Words Vocabulary Study - Volume Four introduces students to the study of words. The more words we know, the more we can appreciate books, speeches, radio and television.
The study includes 18 lessons. Each lesson contains 20 words (studied to retain meaning and for day-to-day usage) and is divided into four sections:
A - Write a brief definition after each word.
B - Include the words given below in a paragraph OR Write each pair of words in a single sentence OR Using as many words as you can write a paragraph
C - Fill in each blank with the most suitable word from the list.
The study also contains 6 tests. Each test covers 3 lessons and is divided into:
A - In each group underline the word or expression which has a similar meaning to the first word.
B - Fill in the blanks with the most suitable words from those listed below.
C - Use each of the following words in a sentence of your own.
D - Replace each word or expression in italics by a word used in Lessons.
E - Match up each word with a suitable word.
E - Find a word which is derived from each of the following roots.
