Essential Words Vocabulary Study - Volume Three introduces students to the study of words. The more words we know, the more we can appreciate books, speeches, radio and television.
The study includes 18 lessons. Each lesson contains 20 words (studied to retain meaning and for day-to-day usage) and is divided into four sections:
A - Write a brief definition after each word.
B - For each of the following sentences choose the correct word from the pair given.
C - Fill in each blank with the most suitable word from the list.
D - Write each pair of words in a single sentence OR Include the words given below in a paragraph OR Using as many words as you can write a paragraph
The study also contains 6 tests. Each test covers 3 lessons and is divided into:
A - In each group underline the word or expression which has a similar meaning to the first word.
B - Choose suitable words from the list given below and fill in the blanks OR Underline the word or words which give the correct meaning
C - Match up each word with a suitable word or expression.
D - Replace each word or expression in italics by a word used in Lessons.
E - Choose suitable words from the list given below and fill in the blanks
E - Use each of the following words in a sentence of your own.
