This product helps students understand what a formal style is, and how to write formally. There are several tips on how to maintain formal style that students can reference later.
There is also a simple practice activity where students highlight/circle the informal parts of a given sentence, and then rewrite the sentence to be formal/correct.
This would be great for an interactive notebook, warm-up, sub plan, or homework assignment. I used it with seventh graders, but due to the spiraling nature of the Common Core Standards, it would work well for a variety of grade levels. It is ready to print and use in your classroom today-no prep required!
