This is an 18 slide, highly animated, power point presentation that covers the vocabulary words on the study of Federalism. The presentation covers the 14 common vocabulary words of Florida Civics Benchmark SS.7.C.3.4. The slides are presented in alphabetical order, but the presentation is editable and can be reordered to adjust to your presentation, if needed.
The United States has existed just over 230 years. This is a relative brief time as compared to other countries or empires. Its government is unique in both its development and in the way it functions as the world’s greatest representative democracy.
As the United States developed into a viable country, it took many of its ideas of government from the best thinkers of its day. Those thinkers created ideas of “Unalienable Rights” and wrote them directly into the laws of the land. These laws then, created a whole new vocabulary to describe these rights.
This presentation contains 14 vocabulary words for the student to master. The assignment is to review each of the vocabulary words, as well as to understand the relationship and division of powers between the federal government and state governments.
