This set includes a game board with directions, playing cards, and student sheets for the Estimate the Quotient Game. In this game, students draw cards to build a division problem with a one-digit divisor, and then individually estimate the quotient for that problem. Then each player solves the division problem to find the exact quotient. Finally, each player finds the difference between his or her estimate and the exact quotient. The winner of each round is the player that was closest to the actual quotient.
Game board: You will need to print one copy of the game board for every pair of students in your class. It is recommended that this be done on colored paper and laminated for durability. The directions are listed on the game board for students to reference.
Playing cards: Each game set needs a deck containing 2 sets of numbered cards 0 – 9. So printing 4 pages of slides 3 & 4 (two of each) will give you 3 decks of cards. Printing these on colored paper, cutting out, and then laminating is recommended.
Student sheet: The game playing sheet has room for 6 rounds of the game.
