This is a mini-lesson to introduce or refresh students on how to estimate a solution to a division or multiplication problem. Students are expected to round the numbers to the nearest 10 before estimating, and then are expected to use a picture to help them visualize solving the problem.
This lesson would be best accompanied by additional practice after the mini-lesson where students are asked to estimate before solving a problem.
