This engaging, cooperative learning task card resource has students discussing and estimating square roots. Students will locate rational and irrational numbers on a number line; order and compare rational and irrational numbers; and understand the value of a square root can be approximated between integers and that non-perfect square roots are irrational.
You may use this activity in a variety of ways. I used it as a review activity and placed students in groups of 3-4 students. I encouraged the students to work together to discuss and solve the twenty four problems on the task cards.
An answer key is included.
