This PowerPoint begins with 3 slides I show to the class, and the final 2 slides hold the 5 questions I use and more detailed procedures for how I use this activity in my class room. Students are moving around the room and interacting through the written word rather than verbally.
I use this activity to prepare students for their final Open-Ended Essay for "Ethan Frome." At this point in the unit, the novel has been read, we have done Socratic Seminars for four days and major motifs and themes have been considered. The 5 questions I have provided are areas that are often not covered in the student-lead Socratic Seminars.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
