Product Description
I use these three different handouts for review after pre-teaching the concepts of euphemism, jargon and cliché. You can use them as stand-alone worksheets or homework assignments, but I prefer to use them in group competitions. I divide my class into groups of 3, and ask each group to come up with the answers. The first group to come to me with the right answers wins the prize (e.g. some gum). Alternatively, I hand out a good copy sheet to each group, they fill it out and then each group marks another group's efforts. The best mark wins. Low-stakes competition is fun and always seems to work!
