A euphemism is an inoffensive word or phrase that is substituted for another word or phrase that may be considered sad, offensive, hurtful, or shocking. This set of worksheets contains 2 different worksheets and also has a reference sheet for student use which lists many common euphemisms for such categories such as ‘died’, ‘fat’, ‘crazy’, to name a few. These are geared toward middle school students, so there are no references to sex or pregnancy.
Answer keys are included. I put this set in a PDF format, but if you would like to edit the worksheets, leave your email address in the comment section and I’ll email you a set in Word.
My 6th and 7th grade students enjoyed these and I even learned a few new ones from them. I hope your students enjoy them too.
