This project allows students to use data and geography to make real world decisions. The goal is for students to create a population and GDP per capita map to decide which country in Europe they would like to build a company. Students collect and analyze data as well as present their findings.
Included in this project is:
-a thorough teacher's guide
-a comic book introduction presenting the scenario to the student (very fun!)
-a worksheet in which students can learn about GDP per capita
-detailed instructions on how to collect the data needed on CIA World Factbook (for both students and teachers)
-a blank outline map with a key for this project
-a finished map (though a bit outdated as the data constantly changes)
-a guide to complete the three paragraph essay (the final part of the project)
This project is not only fun but provides teachers an avenue to introduce students to interpreting and analyzing data!
