To become familiar with the events which led to the discovery of the New World.
2 class periods
This informative map exercise has been popular among my students. It includes several sections with background information pertaining to events that led to the discovery of the New World. Each section contains a series of directions for mapwork. Class members draw, print, label, write, and trace on a large 3-page map that is formed by combining three of the handout sheets.
Easy-to-follow Teacher Instructions and answer key included, along with a 20-question follow up quiz to measure student progress.
The quiz can also be given as a homework assignment.
