These European Exploration Trading Cards gives students a fun way to review key facts about different explorers and study for their different assessments. Trading Cards also work great with Interactive Notebooks - just cut out the squares and fold for a great foldable!
1. Students fill in the necessary information for each explorer that you study. There are four cards per sheet. Each card can be folded in half (on the dotted line) and either stapled or taped. This allows the explorer information to be on the back without you needing to line up a double sided copy.
2. After cards are cut and assembled, students can play any type of card game with these (such as Go Fish, Uno, etc.). Before the student completes his/her turn, he/she must tell a fact about the explorer on the card. If playing Go Fish, student must ask a question using a fact from the card.
Explorers on cards: Columbus, Coronado, Pizarro, Magellan, Cortez, Cartier, Cabot, Hudson, de Leon, Balboa, de Soto, Dias
Also includes blank cards for students to draw explorers and 4 cards with images that can be used for other explorers – students just write in names.
Activities included are intended to support your curriculum not to replace it.
I hope you and your students enjoy these activities!
