Are you looking for a unit on European Explorers (Christopher Columbus, Juan Ponce de Leon, Jacques Cartier, and Christopher Newport) that has differentiated activities along with all the materials you need to teach the entire unit to students? Are you tired of just teaching from the textbook and want something different to do with your class? If so, this packet of materials is literally all that you need – an overall unit outline for 10 days of higher-level differentiated activities, interactive notes, quizzes, suggested homework assignments,a research project and a unit test.
**If you teach in Virginia, this unit of study specifically correlates to History/Social Science, SOL 3.3, 3.5(d).
This unit has been set up so that students study from interactive notebooks; a regular composition book or spiral notebook is sufficient. It is, of course, optional.
The materials in this packet include a detailed unit outline (10 days), pre-assessment questions and answer key, different activities for students who "test out" of the material, study guide pages with an answer key, interactive notes, an "Explorers Song" set to the tune of "Where is Thumbkin", and much more.
I have provided a Table of Contents sheet along with several samples of materials as a free download so that you can see if this would work for you.
If you are just interested in the activities and not the rest of the unit, I have posted several of the activities as a separate listing for a lower fee. So please check out my listings if you are interested.
