This is a semantic feature analysis graphic organizer. Students can use their textbooks or other resources (internet, library books, etc.) to research each explorer (Spanish, French, Dutch, and English). Once the organizer is completed the teacher can have the kids make inferences or draw conclusions about how each group of explorers saw how important exploration was, as well as, their motivation to explore. An alternative to completing this organizer is teachers could assign each student/group of students with an explorer and they become experts and teach the other students about their explorer (Jigsaw activity).
