A fun project to get your students thinking about the ins and outs of European travel! Originally used for a co-taught Sophomore Composition and World Geography summer school course.
This project includes the summative itinerary assignment, as well as a budget worksheet, and a travel journal activity.
Students can choose a European country and then research tour and activity details to gain understanding of traveling in Europe. The original assignment was a 10-day vacation that we changed to a five day vacation. Students need to research where to stay, where to eat, travel warnings, basic phrases, and tours. They then will build a travel itinerary complete with flight information, tour information, cost, etc. Set the budget so students understand how to budget for a vacation. Interactive budget worksheet included.
Also included is a travel journal activity, where students will read blogs/journals from travelers who actually went to the country being researched!
