Product Description
This lesson will cover the interactions between the Native American Indian populations and the European colonists of the 17th century. The purpose of this lesson is to explore how these two groups treated each other, and how one story can be told with two different perspectives. You will use specifically the story of Pocahontas and John Smith in order to relay this. This is a skills based lesson that includes readings, film, seminar and/or discussion, as well as instructions for enrichment and follow up assessments. It's a fun and historical way to have students question stories they think they know and learn the historical tools of thinking critically about the sources they use.
