PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Common Core reading lesson covers how to evaluate the claims in an author’s argument. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for Common Core assessments. In this lesson, students will determine if an author’s claims are supported or unsupported based on reasons and evidence from the text. In addition to the lesson, there are four pages of independent practice with questions modeled after the Common Core assessment items.

This lesson is a shockwave file (.swf) that is compatible with all web browsers and operating systems on any PC, Mac, or Chromebook. Answers will pop onto the page with the click of a mouse or presentation remote.
