Do your students need more practice substituting values in for variables and then solving algebraic expressions. If so, make the task fun with this activity. Students solve the problems on the worksheet and color a worksheet to create a design.
To prevent students from discovering a coloring pattern, the worksheet has an obvious color change that allows you to see if students are really using their answers to color the worksheet. Also included, are two coloring options for the same set of problems. Use one design for the whole class or use both designs with the same set of students to make it more difficult for them to copy from each other.
An answer key and examples of the colored sheets are included.
