This cooperative learning structure gives students a chance to practice skills independently, and then work with others to check and correct their work.
Students work their way through 6 rounds of problems, solving a problem in each round. They then sum their solution with their teammates' answers to come up with a final answer which they submit for points.
Topics covered include:
-Evaluating expressions for given replacement variables (positive, negative, and fractions values)
-Combining like terms
-Translating expressions from verbal models to algebraic ones
-Order of operations with squares, cubes, roots, and parentheses.
Full answer key is included. Please see the "Preview" file for the first problem from each round if you would like an idea of the types of problems utilized.
