PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Teach your students to analyze and evaluate persuasive arguments in this mini-unit! As students read several articles about the debate on killing barred owls to save spotted owls, students will learn to identify and trace the central argument, claims, supporting evidence, and emotional appeals. They will also evaluate the effectiveness of each article based on its components.

Students use annotations, color-coding, drawing, multiple-choice questions, and discussions with peers as the examine each text. Included in this mini-unit are:

A Unit Overview
Three Lesson Plans
Links to 5 different articles
Printable to go with Lesson 3

This is a companion mini-unit to my Comprehending Informational Text Mini-Unit. You can find it and much more at my store, the Literacy Lounge!
