Product Description
This is an activity that can be used to practice evaluating expressions. It is meant to be completed in partner groups but can be done as a self check activity by individual students too.

The page has two lists of problems. The lists are labeled “partner 1” and “partner 2.” Each problem is different, but the simplified polynomial students get when they divide will be the same. This allows students with a way to check their work. If partner 1 has a different answer for problem 1 than partner 2, students know a mistake was made and can work together to figure out what went wrong. An answer key is included!

There are many ways to complete this assignment.
a) You can cut the pages so that each partner has their own problems. Then, allow students a set amount of time to complete the problems on their page. Next, allow students to converse with their partner and check their work. Once complete, the pages can be stapled together and turn in.

b) Have students pair up. Have students share the page and complete the first problem on their side. Once they complete problem 1, have them compare answers. Continue until all 6 problems are complete.

c) Have students complete the entire page individually. Makes a great exit ticket or bell ringer and is self checking!
