This project was amazing at teaching how to evaluate expressions. Students analyze a player from the NFL, NCAA and MLB. They use the player profile statistics to determine the passer rating (NFL,NCAA) and Earned Run Average (MLB). Through this project, students learn how to evaluate expressions. The analysis helps them understand formulas and expressions and how the terms relate to each other and their affect on the final outcome. This project includes the original documents and a PDF version. It also includes player profiles. It took about 120 minutes to finish the project and complete the final analysis. I suggest that you begin with MLB Earned Run Average, as the formula is easier and a good lead in. Also included are the lesson plans.
