Looking for a partner/group activity that your kids will enjoy? This board game is it!
This game provides 36 questions on evaluating expressions using the correct order of operations, including integers and positive rational numbers.
It does take a bit of prep, but the collaboration you’ll see and the one-on-one time this gives you with students is all worth it! To prep, you copy the questions onto dark-colored paper (so they won’t be see through), then cut apart and place into a baggie with some game pieces and a die (centimeter cubes or coins work just fine as game pieces). Each card already has the answer printed on it, so the students can check it for themselves! If a student gets their answer correct, they get to roll and move forward on the game board that many spaces. Having 36 question cards per game also allows for more than one cycle to be played. This is a great end-of-unit review activity!
