This sequencing activity will provide your students with an engaging opportunity to evaluate simple logarithms. More specifically, students will use their knowledge of exponents (fractional exponents included), the common logarithm, and the base change formula to evaluate several logarithms.
To complete the activity, students will start by evaluating the logarithm on their student worksheet. If the evaluation is done correctly, their answer will be at the top of a card on the next page. Students cut the card with the correct answer on it out and paste it into the next available spot on their worksheet (scissors and glue required) before evaluating the logarithm on this new card and continuing on with the activity. Students are finished when they have pasted all cards onto their worksheet in the appropriate order.
This no-prep resource includes directions, a student worksheet, cards for students to paste in sequential order, and an answer key. All but 2 of the questions in this activity are shown in the preview – check it out to determine if this activity is at the appropriate level of rigor for your students!
