This Unit is packed with so many great activities for your students to learn about the wonderful and amazing Eve Bunting.
She is one of my favorite author's and I have taught this unit 3 years and a row. Always adding pieces to it!
In this unit the day is broken up to help the teacher organize objectives being taught.
Students will begin their journey of Eve Bunting through a wonderful Web Quest Activity. There are attached worksheets as well as fact cards that students fill out during their web-quest search.
I have attached links for you to that are a great resource for your students when going on their search. There is also a Bio-Web Quest rubric to help you grade your students work.
Students will be answering questions such as;
➢ Who is this author?
➢ What will we learn about her?
➢ What books did she write?
➢ How will knowing about the author help me in the author study?
I have also added a study guide of questions that students can work on in whole group or in guided reading. I used The Green Apple as a mentor text. Students will be Studying Vocabulary and Comprehension. They will be answering questions that go along with the text.
I use the Daily 5 so many of my questions are written using the Daily 5 as a format.
Common Core Standards this unit will meet:

A2d: Identify and describe the effect of common literary devices on the reader, including figurative language and symbolism, to understand the text.
A3a: Create questions that can be answered by the text using text features and information found within the text.
