The purpose of this lesson is to familiarize your students with the events leading up to the Civil War in a simple and relatable manner but to also shed some misconceptions how/ why the Civil War began as well. There are many ways of using this lesson so methods of delivering and timing can vary. By the end of the lesson however your students will have reviewed pre-Civil War events that caused tensions between the North and South and recollect the order in which events happened that led to southern secession; not to mention be able to imply the different feelings of people and regions about these events.
This is a KILLER practice activity! You won't be disappointed.
